À PROPOS
Originally from Reunion Island, we decided in 2020 to leave our island and settle in the Charente to reconnect with Bernard's Charente roots.
We fell in love with Domaine de Pladuc, a 19th century mansion and former wine estate located in Petite Champagne in Lachaise, a small village of 300 inhabitants around twenty kilometres from Cognac.
After a major renovation of the house, which we acquired in September 2020, we launched our bed and breakfast, Réunionnaise table d'hôtes and wedding and seminar reception business on 1 August 2021.
Set in 8,000 m2 of parkland through which the River Né flows, the property has a special charm and a peaceful atmosphere that inspired us to organise events there, making it a place where visitors can live, feel welcome and share their experiences.
For example, on 26 November 2023, we are organising a Christmas market to showcase the region's talents and enable local businesses to forge partnerships. The 2nd edition will take place on December 1, 2024.
On Sunday 15 September 2024, we organised an Open Day entitled Hymn to Autumn, offering visitors workshops in sophrology, shiatsu massage, yoga, floral decoration, hairdressing, body painting and an exhibition of dolls from the 40s and 50s. Musical interludes punctuated the day with 2 musicians, Sylvie on the clarinet and Catherine on the mandolin.
L'Atelier de Marie, a fashion boutique in Cognac and Barbezieux, also presented its Autumn 2024 collection.
